What is crop production? Crop production system & management

1st Definitions:- Crop production is defined as the production or cultivating the crops for the consumption or selling in the market. Also the rearing of crops in the land cultivated with the help of machines or animals and by following of certain different practices is known as crop production.

2nd Definitions:- Crop production can also be defined as the combination of different complex sciences such as agronomy, biology, plant sciences, marketing, entomology, pathology etc. & of different operations for producing a product i.e. crop from a piece of land.

Industrial Crops & Products made from them

Industrial crops are the crops which are cultivated for fulfilling the production needs & not for consumption purposes. These crops are grown for the strengthening of industrial sector by providing it with raw material so as to make different products of human use. Some of the industrial crops are: Rubber, Coffee, Tea, Coconut, Opium, fiber crops like jute, cotton, hemp etc; tobacco, papaya, cashew nut, areca nut etc. The industrial crops are of good economic benefits but they reduce the soils fertility by exhausting a large amount of mineral matter & nutrients from it.
